I am involved in the senior care industry and have read your blog.

I have constantly been asked to explain the difference between nursing homes and assisted living.

This course is available to anyone wanting to know more about hospice. The material is taken from the Medicare Conditions of Participation and my own experiences with hospice. My current role (day job) is as a hospice care consultant. Many agencies use my curriculum on a personalized site to introduce volunteers to the world of hospice and then do their face to face training once the online portion is completed. Some people take the general course at http://www.volunteertrainingonline.com just to get acquainted with the hospice philosophy of care.

The course is $10 for an individual. For agencies, a personalized site is created and the agency pays a $10 per month usage fee and $10 for each volunteer that begins training.

I was a practical nurse/cma an have worked in nursing home an skilled facilities an foster care senior homes for over 30 yrs. I am now a pastor working in the same capacity except now I get to tell people about Jesus. I’ve been around the dying all my life an enjoy helping them, so this is where God has taken me thus far. I now need the extra training for this. I have just enrolled at an online college to get my masters in counseling, so hopefully this will help with the journey. I’m no spring chicken so the sooner I learn the better :}:}:}LOL
